CRATER LAKES NATIONAL PARK

Public BBQ

Lake Eacham is a local gem with picturesque views and pristine waters. The lake offers a well-formed 3-kilometre walk that circumnavigates its perimeter, offering ample opportunities to spot native fauna. Visitors can enjoy a large, safe swimming area, with grassed areas for play and relaxation. However, some prefer not to swim, citing a personal preference or the presence of harmless freshwater crocodiles. The park features excellent facilities including a playground, restrooms, picnic areas with covered and open tables, and ample parking for cars, buses, and caravans. A charming teahouse offers delicious meals and refreshments, with breathtaking views of the lake. A variety of visible marine life can be seen from the viewing platforms and the shallow waters near the lake's edge, which is a favorite spot for kayaking. The serene rainforest walk and the variety of fauna and flora in the area add to the allure of Lake Eacham. As this is a national park, dogs are not allowed.
